Within the framework of this cooperation, an entire ecosystem should be created, and one might even say a new branch of Russian energy, mechanical engineering and railway transport. Modular stacks of hydrogen fuel cells will be created that can be used on trains for various purposes, from freight locomotives to passenger express trains. In parallel, a refueling infrastructure will be created. And the refueling will be carried out, which is logical, with hydrogen, which will be produced by the corresponding divisions of Rosatom. And there is no need to joke here. Everything here will be accurate, clear and serious. Well, looking at modern Russian trains, it will also be beautiful.

Of course, and this is not hidden in the press release of Transmashholding, all the most modern technologies, including foreign ones, will be used in the implementation of this project. But a clear task is being set to localize all technologies here, in Russia. Yes, hydrogen is not a simple energy carrier that requires precise and careful use, and of course it is not an energy carrier for personal light vehicles. But where there is confidence that this accuracy will be observed is in the products of Rosatom and TMH. And I believe that their alliance for the implementation of the task of creating a Russian hydrogen railway transport will give an excellent result.

It is likely that Sakhalin will briefly become a pilot region, where they will begin to regularly use trains with hydrogen fuel cells, but very quickly this technology will be transferred to Transib, BAM, the southern direction of railways in the central part of the country, at least. The time frame for these projects is very short. The first hydrogen trains should be on the way within two to three years. By this time, industrial production of hydrogen should be launched, and a refueling infrastructure should be built.
