The signing of the agreement was held in Beijing on April 15, and was dedicated to the opening of the first Beijing Charging and Exchange Station of the second generation of Nio Power Swap Station 2.0. As you already know, Nio continues to successfully develop the technology of express replacement of batteries on an electric car in its country. And this technology, relative to electric vehicles, is unique in that it is realized so far only and exclusively in China, and only NIO company, which originally designed its # electric cars, and more precisely the landing node of the battery block, so that it can be easily replaced in automated mode. And judging by the statistics of the use of the first generation SWAP Station already existing network, this functionality came to the owners of the NiO electric vehicles.

Joining SINOPEC as a strategic partner to NiO is the most important milestone in the development of the electric car in China, and an indicative moment, how the hydrocarbon company diversifies its business, investing in the creation of infrastructure for electric vehicles. #Sinopec does not just invest its funds in NiO. No, the leadership of the Chinese oil and gas company is not interested in being a banal portfolio investor. This, in the end, is simply not serious, and it would be a profanation.

Over the next few years, Sinopec plans to deploy a network of 5,000 charging stations and replacing the Nio Power Swap Station 2.0 batteries. According to Yuicho Zhana, Sinopec Chairman, the company accelerates the transition from the traditional seller of petroleum products to an integrated supplier of energy services for oil and gas, hydrogen, electricity and other businesses. Creating a Nio Power Swap Station 2.0 network is a new business dimension, new horizons. SINOPEC and NIO are going to comprehensively cooperate in the field of new materials, technologies of intelligent electric vehicles, «battery technologies as a service» (Baas), buying cars and the construction of recreational facilities in order to further use their advantages in building an innovative cooperation model between the world energy and automotive industries. Thus, it would seem that elementary business for charging and the exchange of batteries of electric vehicles becomes an integrator of innovative technologies and services, and a new direction of development for oil and gas companies.

Recall that #Nio Power Swap Station 2.0 is an intelligent battery replacement system, supported by software-defined cloud computing, and this is the world’s first mass network of stations to replace batteries. Each Station #Nio Power Swap Station 2.0 has 239 sensors and four interacting cloud computing systems that allow the maximum use of visual recognition technologies. Thanks to this technology, users can perform self-replacement of the battery with one click in the appropriate application in the smartphone, or the button in the electric car without leaving it. The system is able to perform up to 312 batteries per day.
